Job Description:

An experienced leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills is needed for a role as an Electrical Design & Technical Services Manager. Reporting to the Head of Electricity, the successful candidate will be responsible for Design and Technical Support management ranging from LV to 132kV. You’ll demonstrate a high level of competency and understanding of 132kV technical knowledge for primary substation management and control and will also provide Design and Technical support to the wider group for the implementation of the Network Management System.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing the Electrical Design Team, Training Competence & ServicesTeam, Authorisation Process (NAF’s), and EMF Process
  • Developing the Design & Technical capability of the Electricity team up to 132kV by collaboratively developing training plans and associated systems.
  • Ensuring all Design & Technical reporting to regulatory bodies is adhered to
  • Maintaining & developing relationships with ICPs, DNO’s & other stakeholders
  • Assisting all Departmental Managers in developing greater efficiency within the Company to promote continuous improvement to Electrical Design & Technical procedures
  • Supporting the development, delivery, and management of the Safety and Technical Competencies system for engineering personnel
  • Encouraging the promotion of the City & Guilds Electricity training program & positively engaging with the STC Manager

Requirements:

  • Leading multiple project delivery teams, in relation to Primary Sub-stations, including 132kV Network Management Systems
  • High Voltage electrical design, maintenance on transmission & distribution networks.
  • HNC or higher - Electrical Engineering
  • CSCS Card
  • IOSH / NEBOSH
  • IEng / CEng in Electrical Engineering (or working towards)
  • Management, technical, industry, contract, program, policy, standards, system operations, commissioning and Health & Safety experience in power distribution, up-to 132kV
