Electrical Design Engineer

• Preparation of conceptual design for greenfield/brownfield substation/cable project after verifying feasibility, develop detailed scope of works, bill of quantities, tender documents
• Assist during tendering for preparation of pre-tender clarifications, post-tender clarifications, technical bid evaluation, priced bid evaluation, contract documents
• Conduct Design review of Electrical design documents, calculations, drawings, schematics, test procedures, method statements, test reports, etc. ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and regulations
• Participate in design meetings and Technical Coordination Meetings to discuss and resolve project design issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with higher officers and clients regarding design progress, deviations, and interface points
• Provide technical support and assistance to the client's teams, and assist in any interface requirements with the Office
• Prepare, maintain, and review documentation for all electrical designs and modifications, including contractor’s design documents and procedures
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and technology

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
• Minimum of 12 years of experience post-graduation
• At least 8 years of experience as an electrical engineer in HV substation/Cable projects
• Expertise in dealing with power utilities (preferably in the UAE or GCC)
• Experience with TAQA Transmission or equivalent in the region is highly desirable
• Strong track record in basic design and design review
• Ability to conduct and manage meetings efficiently
• Fluent in English – reading, writing, and speaking
• Adequate knowledge of international standards and TAQA specifications
• Proficiency in MS-Office & AutoCAD
