Vysus Group is seeking experienced Senior and Principal Electrical Design Engineers to support major nuclear, fuel-cycle, advanced reactor, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects in the United States. These positions support highly regulated and safety-critical nuclear projects involving electrical power systems, electrical design engineering, multidisciplinary EPC execution, and advanced engineering analysis and design activities. The Senior and Principal Electrical Design Engineers provide technical leadership, engineering expertise, and independent technical solutions for complex nuclear and industrial projects. Acting as discipline representatives, they ensure technical quality, compliance, and successful project execution across all phases.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and review electrical design drawings, specifications, calculations, and engineering documents
Develop and modify single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, raceway, lighting, and grounding designs
Perform electrical system studies including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, motor starting, harmonics, and grounding analyses
Perform electrical calculations including voltage drop, cable sizing, cable de-rating, and cable pulling tension calculations
Prepare motor schematics, interconnection diagrams, power plans, and grounding layouts
Support hazardous area classifications and electrical design documentation
Coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and project execution activities
Support project estimates, schedules, staffing forecasts, and progress reporting activities
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred
Senior Engineer – Significant relevant engineering experience with strong technical expertise in the applicable discipline
Principal Engineer – Extensive relevant engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership and a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects
Candidates should demonstrate experience in several of the following areas: Nuclear facility engineering
EPC project delivery
Advanced reactors and SMR projects
Electrical power systems engineering
Single line diagrams and motor schematics
Raceway, cable tray, conduit, and grounding design
Electrical calculations and system studies
Hazardous area classifications
Relay coordination and protection systems
Electrical power plans and interconnection diagrams
Engineering calculations and analyses
Multidisciplinary engineering coordination
Regulatory and quality compliance
U.S. Citizenship may be required for certain project assignments
Nice to have
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) project experience
Nuclear quality assurance programmes (ASME NQA-1)
Experience with NFPA 70 / 70E and IEEE standards
Nuclear, manufacturing, commercial, industrial, or oil & gas/chemical facility projects
Practical field, commissioning, or startup experience
Experience leading engineering teams and project execution
Experience with electrical power systems software and analyses
Experience with engineering software and design platforms such as ETAP, SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Smart 3D (S3D), Revit, Visual Lighting software, and other 3D modeling and 2D Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) tools
