Piper Maddox are supporting a well-established and growing energy company in their search for an Electrical Design Engineer Lead. Specialising in ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV, alongside battery storage, they are looking for someone to lead electrical design on projects with grid connections up to 132kV. Job Responsibility

  • Leading electrical design for solar PV and BESS projects
  • Overseeing LV, MV and HV systems, including connections up to 132kV
  • Producing and reviewing SLDs, protection studies, cable calculations, and earthing designs
  • Working closely with DNOs, ICPs, project managers, and construction teams
  • Supporting tendering, construction, and commissioning activities

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong experience in renewable energy electrical design
  • Knowledge of G99/G100 grid connection requirements
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • Proven technical leadership with a hands-on approach
  • Experience with LV, MV, and HV systems including connections up to 132kV
  • Experience producing and reviewing SLDs, protection studies, cable calculations, and earthing designs
