Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support offshore wind projects by delivering high-quality RMS (PSS/E) and EMT (PSCAD) studies, ensuring grid compliance and robust design.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and validate EMT and RMS models (WTG, PPC, HVAC/HVDC, STATCOM/SVC)
  • Perform PSS/E studies: load flow, short circuit, RMS dynamics, contingencies, sensitivities
  • Perform PSCAD studies: faults, control interactions, protection, energisation, harmonics/transients
  • Manage OEM/vendor models: validation, parameterisation, version control
  • Produce clear, audit-ready reports and grid compliance documentation
  • Summarise results and recommend mitigation measures
  • Collaborate across teams and ensure adherence to QA standards

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years’ PSCAD (EMT) experience
  • Strong PSS/E (steady-state & RMS) experience
  • Experience with OEM/black-box models and parameterisation
  • Scripting/automation skills (Python/MATLAB)
  • Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently within defined methodologies
