Electrical Design Engineer – Protection / Secondary role within Renewable Energies sector for Assystem Stup, a full-service design, engineering and project delivery consultancy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-10 years of experience as a Electrical Protection (Secondary) Design Engineer within a consulting firm or a similar industry
  • Proven expertise in 380Kv, 132kV, 33kV Substation/Underground/OHTL Primary System Design like preparation of Single line diagrams, Protection logic diagrams/ relay and metering/ Protection Single line diagrams, CT/VT SLDs
  • Experience in CT and VT calculations
  • Experience in Preparation of SAS point list, Fault recorder Point List, SOE point list, DSM point list, etc.
  • Experience in Relay settings Calculation and relay coordination
  • Reviews of Protection and control schemes and Technical Offer
  • Experience in Interface engineering, Control Cables termination schedules
  • Good understanding of project technical specifications and preparation of Equipment Technical Specifications
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as ETAP and other electrical engineering software’s
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality results and meeting project deadlines

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Secondary Engineering is an added advantage
  • Experience of renewable energy projects is an advantage

  • Work with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology, with the goals being enhanced safety, enhanced functionality and reduced cost
  • Work with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to ensure that labour budgets and material budgets are adhered to or improved upon
  • Specify all electrical and controls-related hardware and software and produce requisitions for material purchases
  • Integrate third party equipment and electronic component entry into electrical design packages
  • Verify that electrical design package is complete, accurate and safe based on sound design practices and accepted standards, and that the I/O drawings meet program requirements prior to issue to shop floor
  • Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers and electricians to solve problems in order to provide the customer with a complete, functional system
  • Provide customers with training specific to their current project (i.e. electrical hardware, machine operation, programming principles, program functionality and program structure)
