Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking Electrical Design and Integration Engineers to join the KC-46 team in Everett, WA or Tukwila, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and optimization of electrical wiring systems for various complex projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of electrical solutions while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced, Lead, or Senior Level Engineers.
Job Responsibility:
Electrical System Design: Develop and design electrical wiring systems, considering power requirements, safety regulations, and project specifications
Wiring Design and Installation: Create and review designs for wiring installations, ensuring proper routing, protection, and installation methods are employed
Equipment Installation Design: Collaborate with teams to design and integrate equipment installation plans that align with electrical systems and project requirements
Systems and Wiring Architecture: Design and integrate comprehensive systems and wiring architecture, focusing on efficiency and reliability
Power Distribution Upgrades: Plan and implement power distribution upgrades, ensuring compatibility with new systems and improved efficiency
Battery and DC Power Architecture: Design and integrate battery and DC power architecture, focusing on power storage, distribution, and backup systems
Integration Planning: Work with project teams to determine integration requirements of electrical wiring systems with control systems, sensors, and actuators
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices
System Optimization: Identify opportunities for system optimization, cost reduction, and improved efficiency in electrical wiring design and integration processes
Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and integration plans. Prepare progress reports and present findings to stakeholders
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough technical/process design reviews and verification of electrical wiring systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with mechanical engineers, systems engineers, software developers, project managers, supplier management, quality, production operations, specialty engineering, etc. to ensure seamless integration of electrical wiring systems
Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing electrical wiring design and integration, including FAA, EWIS, and military certification requirements
Electrical Fabrication and Production Support: Provide support for electrical fabrication and production line activities, ensuring that designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges related to electrical wiring design and integration and develop mitigation strategies
Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, wiring design, and integration techniques
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
3+ years of experience in engineering
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Experience in electrical wiring design, wiring installation design, equipment installation design, systems and wiring architecture, FAA/EWIS/military certification, electrical fabrication, and electrical production line support
Familiarity with electrical system design principles and relevant regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work under minimal direction and manage multiple tasks effectively
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 required
U.S. Citizenship required for Security Clearance
