A registered Professional Electrical Engineer with strong leadership skills
A minimum of 10 years of related experience
A working knowledge of Revit MEP for the production of drawings is preferred

Job Responsibility

Assessing and evaluating existing electrical systems
Leading the design of electrical building systems for renovation and new build projects
Collaborating with design team and mentor design staff to produce schematic design, design development, tender, and construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget
Overseeing development of design concepts and ensuring proper application and execution
Conducting site surveys, gathering critical field data and performing condition assessments
Maintaining and expanding current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to applicable projects and continually strengthening skills
Maintaining relationships with existing clients and pursuing new opportunities
Develop and maintain design practices and standards for a new electrical department
Develop and mentor staff within the electrical department

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience

Understanding of electrical theory and practical application via your maintenance & operation of critical electrical equipment. (Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)
Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings etc.)

Job Responsibility

Oversees and assures the overall compliance of Microsoft’s Energy Isolation Program and establish acceptance criteria for authorizing campus Energy Isolation Plan
Implements learnings, provides consistency, and drives rigor into Microsoft’s Energy Isolation program and ensures program meets or exceeds company safety policy requirements
Utilise local code and standards as the foundation for Microsoft’s Energy Isolation program that is implemented throughout the campus
Establish with the Engineering team a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure with all campus entities and determine if a group or individual LOTO procedure will be required
Commencement of energy isolation activities with updates on a continuous basis
Liaise with Microsoft construction team where Energy Isolation activities may potentially impact data center core operations
Act in coordination with the Engineering team as a subject matter expert in all energy isolation incident investigations in area of responsibility
Participate in high-risk activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with energy isolation
Ensures high-risk SOWs, SOPs and MOPs are reviewed, and all sources of energy are identified
Ensure a process is established that verifies qualifications, training, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for personnel performing the work

Requirements

Journeyman Electrician's License
4+ years of technical experience in building engineering, focusing on electrical systems
Strong battery background, including UPS systems and VRLA batteries
Experience with battery replacement, tracking, and troubleshooting
Familiarity with EPMS (Electrical Power Management Systems)
Experience working in Data Centers/Raised Floor Environments
CRAC (Liebert) maintenance and repair experience
Previous work experience with a critical infrastructure technology company

Job Responsibility

Responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in Data Center Critical Environments
Focus on ensuring efficient operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining energy-efficient and safe conditions
Implement critical environment protocols and MOP processes
Maintain and repair electrical services, distribution systems, and UPS equipment
Inspect and maintain plant substations, transformers, and HV switches
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot UPS systems and associated battery banks
Perform regular battery inspections, testing, and replacement
Utilize EPMS systems for power distribution and battery performance analysis
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and industry standards
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and HVAC-related components
