Job Description:

We are growing - join our Defence division at Service Stream supporting the PAS contract. We are proud to become a new Australian Department of Defence partner, offering career opportunities to support the delivery of Property and Asset Services across South Australia and the Northern Territory. We are hiring multiple Electrical Authority Network Controllers to join our Defence division, supporting this new contract. These will be offered as permanent full-time positions that could be based at any of the main defence bases in the Northern Territory.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinating and monitoring field activities in response to planned network outages, fault restoration and emergencies
  • Creating, checking, and approving transmission switching schedules
  • Ensuring the safety of personnel and the protection of assets, while maintaining electricity network reliability
  • Developing and managing the service definition/delivery tables for all items relating to the Authority
  • Identifying, familiarising and conducting regular inspections of all HV electrical assets within the Defence network
  • Managing the real-time power system, voltage, performing dispatch, and security functions
  • Facilitating operational communication within the team and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the network.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Certification as an Electrical Authority Network Controller or equivalent
  • Current HV switching and operations qualifications
  • Ideally 5 years’ experience in a similar role with the electrical industry, preferably within a Defence or high-security environment
  • Experience in developing and implementing electrical operational guidelines and procedures
  • Experience with coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing complex projects
  • Strong background in safety management and compliance within the electrical sector
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
