As an Electricity Assessing Officer, your main role will be to conduct technical assessments of electrical engineers on the company's networks. This ensures an efficient system to manage Network Authorisation changes. This is a critical role where you will be key in maintaining the safety and quality standards of the company's operations.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the competence of individuals to ensure compliance with Distribution Safety Rules
Implement and support a succession plan for engineers transitioning to any future assessing role
Represent the business in areas of technical training at industry bodies
Assist the STC Manager with identifying competency gaps and provide strategic guidance to develop a programme to close these gaps
Support the STC Manager with the development and management of the Safety and Technical Competencies for engineering personnel
Ensure all competent engineers work according to the agreed procedures
Deliver timely and accurate reports on engineer competence to senior management
Contribute to compliance with departmental KPIs, including Incident investigations and safety audits of operational staff
Perform any other duties deemed appropriate by the Head of Electricity Delivery & Innovation
Requirements:
Minimum of a Higher National Certificate in Engineering (Electrical)
EUSR (CSCS) Card
IEng in Electrical Engineering (or working towards)
IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
Full Driving Licence
Experience in supporting the development of colleagues
Expertise in High Voltage electrical design, maintenance on transmission & distribution networks
Experience in managing system operations, commissioning and Health & Safety experience in power distribution, up-to 132kV
