This is a project-based employee role supporting the initial development phase of our autonomous vehicle platforms. Development phases of this nature typically span up to project completion (typically 2–4 years), though scope and duration are driven by business needs. The Electrical Assembler I supports the fabrication of wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies used in ASI's autonomous vehicle platforms. This role focuses on learning the core tools, processes, and standards required to assemble electrical harnesses used in prototype and development vehicle systems. As a Level I assembler, this role develops foundational skills in harness assembly including crimping, soldering, and interpreting electrical schematics. The position works under supervision while building basic harness assemblies and learning best practices for electrical assembly and quality standards.
Job Responsibility
Assemble basic wiring harnesses and electrical cable assemblies
Perform crimping, wire preparation, and connector installation using approved tools
Perform soldering tasks including solder cups and simple splices
Assist with harness routing and installation on development platforms
Follow wiring schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions
Perform basic continuity checks and visual inspections on harness builds
Maintain organized workspaces and proper tool usage
Support electrical assembly activities for prototype vehicle builds
Learn industry standards related to harness assembly and quality processes
Requirements
0–2 years of experience in electrical assembly, electronics manufacturing, or related technical work
Basic understanding of hand tools and assembly processes
Ability to follow technical documentation and instructions
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Willingness to learn electrical assembly techniques including crimping and soldering
Ability to work in a team-based production environment
Nice to have
Training in electronics assembly or related technical field
Familiarity with wiring diagrams or electrical schematics
