Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the Operations department at our Castleblayney site in Ireland. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will be working as part of the Engineering & Maintenance team reacting to and resolving day-to-day issues, working closely with other departments and production lines to identify opportunities to improve processing reliability, safety, and product quality with an overall view to maintaining the world class levels of manufacturing. You will develop broad technical expertise in installing, testing, maintaining, and diagnosing modern electrical & control systems, and gain practical experience in the workplace, alongside completing a professional qualification (Level 6- NFQ). This is a blended combination of on-the-job employer-based learning and off-the-job learning. The apprenticeship is for 4 -years, in which you will be employed by Kingspan Insulation and receive a competitive salary package. On successful completion of this programme, you will be awarded a Level 6 Advanced Certified Craft – Electrical.

Job Responsibility

Work as part of the Engineering & Maintenance team reacting to and resolving day-to-day issues
Work closely with other departments and production lines to identify opportunities to improve processing reliability, safety, and product quality
Develop broad technical expertise in installing, testing, maintaining, and diagnosing modern electrical & control systems
Gain practical experience in the workplace, alongside completing a professional qualification (Level 6- NFQ)

Requirements

Junior Certificate pass, with a Grade D or higher in five subjects
Minimum age 16 years old from start date
Ability to follow instruction while working independently and as part of a team
Flexible and willing to be trained across multiple departments and other areas as needed
Computer literate
Be a good team player with a Can do attitude
Ability to act quickly when problems arise

Nice to have

Previous experience of the following subjects: Mathematics, Technology, Technical Drawing/ Graphics, Physics and Construction Studies
