Job Description:

Right now, we are looking for an Electrical and Automation Lead for our Cold Mill. In this role you will report to our Electrical and Automation Manager. The team is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by solving complex technical issues, mentoring team members, and promoting continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the technical expert for electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems, supporting both daily operations and long-term improvements
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical problem-solving for equipment and process issues
  • Oversee spare parts management and ensure ISO compliance within the department
  • Mentor and develop the competence of electrical and automation team members
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with operational goals
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Ensure all activities comply with Swedish electrical regulations, safety standards, and internal procedures
  • Maintain and improve automation systems, documentation, and technical standards to support stable and efficient plant operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Solid experience in electrical and automation systems within heavy industry (preferably steel or metallurgical)
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, drives, sensors, HMI/SCADA, and industrial communication systems
  • Demonstrated ability in complex troubleshooting, process optimization, and mentoring within a technical team

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Cold Rolling Mill or Pickling E&A operations
  • Familiarity with ABB MV and LV drives and process instrumentation
  • Certified Electrician (according to Swedish standards) and/or automation/control system certifications
  • Knowledge of Swedish electrical regulations, CMMS systems, and preventive maintenance standards
