A local authority in the North West is seeking an experienced Interim Electoral Services Officer to support the delivery of electoral registration and election processes during a busy operational period. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and highly organised professional with previous electoral services experience to join a collaborative team and ensure statutory deadlines and legal requirements are met.
Job Responsibility:
Delivery of elections and referendums to strict legislative deadlines
Annual canvass planning and administration
Managing and maintaining accurate electoral register data
Handling complex and sensitive data in line with GDPR requirements
Responding to elector enquiries professionally and efficiently
Supporting compliance processes, election expenses and FOI requests
Liaising with political parties, candidates and internal stakeholders
Assisting with training and supervision of temporary election staff
Requirements:
Previous experience in Electoral Services within a UK local authority
Strong working knowledge of electoral legislation and processes
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
Confident managing large volumes of information under pressure
