We're working with one of the UK's largest independently owned loss adjusting companies, known for delivering high-quality claims solutions where technical expertise and exceptional customer service go hand in hand. Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced EL/PL Liability Adjuster to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong adjuster who enjoys handling complex claims, influencing outcomes, and working with a high level of autonomy. You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive environment, working on a varied caseload of Employers' and Public Liability claims, including higher-value and more complex matters. This role would suit someone who thrives on problem-solving, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving claims through to successful resolution.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex EL/PL claims from notification through to settlement, including high-value and litigated cases
  • Lead detailed investigations into liability, quantum, and policy coverage, applying current legislation and case law
  • Set, review, and justify reserves, ensuring they accurately reflect exposure at all stages of the claim
  • Take ownership of claim strategy, driving cases to efficient and cost-effective resolution
  • Handle and oversee claims involving solicitors, experts, and other third parties
  • Identify and investigate suspected fraudulent or exaggerated claims, taking appropriate action
  • Negotiate robustly to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced team members where required
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive file records in line with internal and regulatory standards
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (TCF, DPA, AML, Anti-Bribery)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Liability Adjusting role, handling EL/PL liability claims, including complex and litigated cases - essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of liability, quantum, and relevant case law
  • Proven experience managing reserves and claim strategy
  • Background in insurer, loss adjusting, or legal environments
  • Experience dealing with claimant solicitors, experts, and insurers
  • Based with easy access to London for Hybrid working
