The eHW CAD Librarian participates in the development, design, and creation of cells, schematic symbols, and electrical components for automotive electronics applications. Creates, develops, and adapts design concepts based on input from clients and engineers using advanced design tools and techniques. Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of creativity and understanding of manufacturing processes and tolerances.
Job Responsibility:
Create component footprint geometry and electrical symbols primarily using Mentor Graphics tools
Understand and interpret component package drawings (ASME Y14.5, etc)
Interface with requesting EEs, other librarians, the Manufacturing Technology Team, and program management, all on a global scale
Review and test CAD geometry created by other ECAD librarians
Manage component data in library database (accessed globally)
Follow all approved BorgWarner ECAD processes to maintain library data integrity
Provides coaching to less experienced designers
Requirements:
High School Diploma required
Associate degree in engineering field, electrical or mechanical engineering (Preferred)
2+ years Mentor Graphics xPedition or similar tool (Preferred)
2+ years Mentor Graphics EDM Librarian Cockpit or similar tool (Required)
2+ years mechanical CAD tools (NX, Autodesk tools) (Preferred)
