Job Responsibility:
Spearhead the production of designs tied to specific projects and create detailed equipment specifications in line with relevant standards and client requests
Be the focal point of interaction, attending client meetings, working closely with internal and external design teams, and coordinating with equipment manufacturers to ensure design suitability
Contribute to the contract project plan, identifying any risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
Continual learning will be a fundamental aspect of your position, including attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge and experience in electrical engineering in either primary or secondary systems including power system and protection design between 132kV - 400kV
Proficiency in Primary/Layout Design or Secondary/Protection and Control Design
Primary/Layout Design entails the design of HV substation layouts and elevations, detailed earthing layouts and connections, and managing the detailed design of HV and LV power cable routes and systems
Secondary/Protection and Control Design involves the development and review of single-line diagrams, production of high-level specifications for control, protection, and SCADA systems, and design of HV protection and control systems
Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering and experience up to 400kV
Membership of The IET, being a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
A working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCad, MS Project, and design software like Revit, CDEGS, etc.
