The EHS Specialist is responsible for safety at the site. This position reports to the Sr Manager EHS and is part of the EHS group located in Pensacola and will be an on-site role.
Job Responsibility
Support the Cytiva Pensacola facility with compliance to all EHS requirements to include develop and maintain EHS procedures - working in coordination with the other departments, as well as assisting the facilities and engineering departments with process changes involving Management of Change
Coordinate and maintain training and records for programs including but not limited to: HAZCOMM, Fire Extinguishers, Hot Work, LOTO, Confined Space, Ergonomics, Ladder Safety, Accident Investigation, Personal Protective Equipment
Conduct/support/coach departments in risk assessment tools and support continuous improvement where gaps are identified, monitoring progress until closed
Create, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships with Value Stream Leaders, Managers, Supervisors and Employee representatives and other key stakeholders (internal and external)
Own and manage Industrial Hygiene monitoring, analysis of reports, and implementation of effective countermeasures as required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science, Engineering or EHS related field with 3+ years experience in environmental, health and/or safety field
Experience managing/overseeing site procedures, work practices related to EHS Regulations, permits, etc.
Ability to communicate at all levels, including senior management and external regulators
Problem solving skills, root cause analysis, knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
Knowledge of Process Safety / Process Hazard Analysis / Job Hazard Analysis and emergency response and planning.
Nice to have
Recognized Professional Certification in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Management (CEM, CHMM, CSP)
Experience working with ISO 45001 audit activities
Auditing Skills including the ability to observe, monitor and analyze existing operating methods and procedures to determine compliance to standards
