The Environmental and Health and Safety Manager will implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and environmental protection in accordance with Federal, State and Local agencies (City of Irving) FAA, DOT, Government. Responsibilities will mainly involve designing, implementing and monitoring policies and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and to minimize environmental impact, ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvement.
Job Responsibility:
Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks
Ensuring legal compliance in health and safety and Environmental aspects: Management of permits and administrative procedures
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections
Develop health and safety and environmental procedures for all areas of the company
Identify and assess potential and HSE risks and develop mitigation strategies
Oversee pollution prevention measures
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, environmental impact and other relevant topics
Monitors compliance with safety and environment procedures
Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings
Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed
Ability to maintain all records, logs, and reports as related to safety, ensuring compliance
Ability to lead accident investigations, assist with inspections, and lead safety meetings
Maintains records of discharge of our employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
Performs other related duties as assigned
Promote and develop improvement plans and report monthly on their implementation
Continuous coordination with the ITP Aero MRO HSE team (Spain & Mexico) and with the operational managers of the BP factories
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of Standards 45001 and 14001
Accidents investigation methodologies
Chemical measurements sampling strategies
Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Excellent knowledge of 5s Practices
Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, master’s degree desirable
Five years of related experience preferred in industrial environments
Ability to obtain OSHA 30 and HAWOPER 30 Certifications
Ability to obtain First Aid, AED and CPR Certifications
