You’ll play a pivotal part in ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental excellence while driving continuous improvement across a dynamic and fast‑moving operational setting.
Job Responsibility:
Lead all operational EHS matters, ensuring full compliance with legislation, industry standards and Etex corporate policies
Champion a Zero Harm culture through visible, proactive leadership and behavioural safety initiatives
Develop, own and deliver EHS improvement plans, embedding best practice and addressing audit findings and risk priorities
Serve as the primary EHS representative for UK Safety Council meetings and external bodies (HSE, EA, insurers)
Support site leadership teams in maintaining legal compliance and audit readiness
Plan, lead and implement internal and external audits, including management system and legal compliance assessments
Analyse and monitor EHS data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
Manage EHS budgets and support strategic planning across the site
Lead and develop the EHS team, ensuring strong capability, performance, and shared best practice across local, national and regional forums
Ensure high‑quality incident investigations with timely completion of corrective and preventative actions
Communicate legislative updates and corporate standards, ensuring alignment across the business
Support environmental governance, sustainability initiatives and long‑term risk reduction strategies
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and compliance
Proven EHS leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial operations — ideally on complex or high‑volume sites
Ability to influence, engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrable experience managing audits, improvement plans and EHS budgets
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on EHS data trends
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
Experience in environmental governance and sustainability practices
Willingness to attend regional and international meetings as required
