The EHS Coordinator role is essentially one of leadership. The person filling this role will accept the personal responsibility to uphold the plant’s effort to create and maintain an injury free environment that trains, encourages that each employee at all levels of the organization becomes increasingly involved in our pursuit of improved safety and Environmental stewardship.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the implementation of EHS programs and procedures
Applies prescribed hazard analysis methodologies to know at-risk conditions and implement mitigation strategies
Maintains existing Safety/Environmental programs, systems & processes and delivers plant floor training as required by these programs, systems and processes
Conducts root cause analysis for incidents
Understands and ensures compliance with our Lock/Tag/Try system. Training and regular auditing of the process
Manages all plant waste-coordinates the recycling of material, manages Universal waste
Maintain the environmental compliance calendar and adhere to all reporting deadlines
Responsible for establishing and maintaining site emergency response processes to include procedures, equipment and people
Assist in meeting all corporate deadlines and program implementation requirements
Responsible for managing safety & environmental inspections
Act as a guide and safety trainer for new hires and contractors
Update and maintain SIF and SDS programs
Participates and leads in safety and housekeeping programs
Investigates and follows all environmental compliance polices and reporting
Leads and participates in focus improvement and case study projects teams bringing successful completion as assigned
Submits SAP Notifications for all safety work requests
Actively participates in EHS and T&D pillar activities, meetings, and training
Serves as a backup for EHS Pillar leader for team activities
Actively participates in plant TPM initiatives
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have extensive knowledge of the OSHA and regulatory compliance field
Three or more years of manufacturing experience in an EHS role
Any of the following certifications (is a plus): OSHA 510, OSHA 500, CHST, ASP, and/or CSP
Moderate knowledge of OSHA regulations
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Think under pressure and make quick decisions to identify solutions
Work well in a team environment
Strong communication and attention to detail
Wear required PPE equipment (safety glasses, bump cap, steel toe boots, ear protection, heat/cut resistant gloves, long sleeve shirt, and face mask)
Ascend and descend stairs and ladders
Lift, push, and pull 50 lb repetitively
Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
SAP software experience
Complete all annual safety and role specific training, as required by this position
Must pass all required assessments
