The EHS Coordinator supports environmental, health, and safety programs in a chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. This role partners closely with site leadership and production teams to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of safety. The position requires regular presence on the plant floor and involvement in daily operations across multiple shifts as needed.
Job Responsibility
Implement and maintain site-level EHS programs, policies, and procedures
Conduct incident and near-miss investigations and track corrective actions
Perform routine hazard assessments and support safe work practices
Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, and shipment in compliance with regulations
Support environmental programs including air, water, and spill prevention requirements
Deliver and coordinate EHS training for employees and contractors
Track and report EHS metrics, including injury data and leading indicators
Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and safety committees
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental, Health & Safety or related field
2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment
Experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT Hazmat, and hazardous waste regulations
Ability to conduct incident investigations and deliver safety training
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Nice to have
Knowledge of EPCRA reporting and ISO 14001 standards
Experience with process safety, MOC, or high-hazard operations
Proficiency in EHS data tracking systems and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to work on-site with physical activity including walking, lifting, and stair climbing
