To manage and provide safety and security system and component design to assure a zero-harm workplace to prevent incidents related to Company activities, serving as a technical expert advisor on safety and security policies, federal, state and local safety regulations and Corporate standards to ensure regulatory applicability.
Job Responsibility:
Provide regulatory guidance and administration on all Safety and security regulations to impacted groups Implement company’s contractor’s safety program
Lead the program for a successful Industrial Hygiene Plan for the site
Conduct/participate in corporate/division/facility and regulated Safety audits
Prepare and/or assist with composing agency (e.g. OSHA), corporate and divisional reports
Provide required, specialized safety and security training to Baxter employees
Member of Emergency Response Team which requires 24-hour on call status
Responsible for development, evaluation, administration and implementation of Safety and security policies and programs
Provide health and safety and security leading and lagging metrics in a working environment
Support staff with the identification of environmental aspects and determining the project objectives and target
Responsible for Risk Management and Safety Observation activities including the hazard identification and evaluation process for unsafe conditions and practices Identify the root causes of safety and industrial hygiene incidents
Develop hazard control processes, methods and programs
Recommend solutions to safety and security issues that need improvement
Monitor implementation of safety and security plans according to facility’s plans and objectives
Monitor and track safety and security systems by using computer systems and spreadsheets
Communicate plans and strategies across the entire business unit from time to time
Maintain and manage equipment and processes related to each project of health and safety Collaborate with other levels of engineering staff, quality assurance, quality improvement, regulatory compliance specialists, etc
Measure and audit the effectiveness of hazard control programs Prepare future safety plans based on safety alerts and memos
Work in compliance with ISO 45001 standards and practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering, viz. electrical, chemical, mechanical, industrial, or any other engineering discipline or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in OSHA and DOT regulations with a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience
Must hold a registered professional certification in safety field (i.e., CSP, CIH, REM, CHMM). Alternately, the incumbent must become certified/ registered within one year of employment
High proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point
Ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective services
Abreast with new changes in laws and regulations
Ability to work in teams and lead projects
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong management and multitasking ability
Strong command over verbal and written communication
Ability to provide and implement plans, objectives and standards timely
