Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) professional with a strong sustainability mindset to support and enhance our EHS management systems across the business. This role plays a key part in ensuring legal compliance while actively advancing our environmental performance, ESG commitments, and long-term sustainability strategy. You’ll help embed responsible, resource-efficient practices and foster a proactive, positive safety and environmental culture throughout the organisation.

Job Responsibility

  • Support EHS management across AJW operations, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001, 50001, and 45001
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • support incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Monitor environmental performance and manage waste, emissions, and resource use
  • Deliver EHS training and promote a proactive safety culture
  • Maintain environmental records and legal registers
  • prepare regulatory reports
  • Lead and support sustainability initiatives aligned with ESG goals
  • Collect and report data on energy, waste, water, and emissions
  • assist with ESG disclosures
  • Collaborate across teams to embed sustainability into operations and procurement
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and support certification audits
  • Identify improvement opportunities and benchmark performance against industry standards
  • Stay current with EHS and sustainability trends, maintaining relevant qualifications

Requirements

  • Qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or related field
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)
  • IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate desirable
  • 2–5 years’ experience in EHS and sustainability roles
  • Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, ISO 14001/45001 standards, climate change laws, and sustainability frameworks
  • Experience with EHS audits, investigations, and risk reduction measures
  • Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and EHS management systems
  • Able to develop and revise HS&E policies and procedures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail
  • Passionate about health, safety, sustainability, and environmental protection
