The EHCP, High Needs & Transition Co-ordinator will work closely with the administrator alongside the Learning Support Co-ordinator and assist the Team Leader to remove barriers to learning ensuring that learners with additional needs have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with the administrator alongside the Learning Support Co-ordinator and assist the Team Leader to remove barriers to learning
Ensure learners with additional needs have the opportunity to reach their full potential
Oversee the learner journey for those with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and/or high needs from their transition to college and at the end of their journey in preparing for next steps
Work alongside curriculum teams to break down barriers and ensure learners are able to achieve successful outcomes both academically and socially
Ensure effective relationships with schools and local authorities are maintained
Oversee tracking and funding systems with regards to EHCP and high needs learners
Requirements:
Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual
Thorough knowledge of legislation regarding learners with difficulties/disabilities (e.g., SEN Code of Practice, Single Equality Duty, Health and Safety)
Broad range of curriculum knowledge/qualification structure (e.g., BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeships)
Experience of supporting learners with difficulties/disabilities across a range of curriculum areas in an educational environment
Knowledge of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional, behavioural)
Planning and delivering support for a wide variety of needs, across all course levels and using a range of methodologies including Assistive Technologies
Supporting learners with Access Arrangements for exams
Level 2 Qualification in a vocational or Key Skill Area
Hold or be willing to work towards a level 3 qualification linked to support, learning or disability
