As an EEG Tech, you will perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols. Every day you will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision. To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of EEG equipment, continuously update your skills, and actively participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.
Job Responsibility
Perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols
Prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision
Perform standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings
Apply suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions and checks their performance
Calibrate and adjusts the EEG apparatus
Select predetermined electrode combinations as well as special combinations made necessary by the case under study
Take standard recordings
Recognize artifacts and take appropriate steps to eliminate them
Describe normal and abnormal clinical manifestations observed during the tests
Use activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep
Obtain the patient's cooperation for the best performance of these procedures
Monitor on the same apparatus other variables such as electromyogram, electrocardiograms, electro-oculograms, respiration, etc., when indicated
