Job Description:

Barnsley Council have an exciting opportunity for an Educational Psychologist to join the team based in Barnsley. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £51,383 - £61,721 per annum (plus up to 3 SPA points).

Job Responsibility:

  • Work collaboratively with others to build capacity and bring about positive change for children and young people
  • Inform and deliver strategic outcomes to promote positive change for children and young people with SEND
  • Practice within the full range of settings across Barnsley
  • Provide a psychology service to the Youth Justice Team and Virtual school
  • Work within a robust, needs-led service model that supports a graduated approach with a focus on building capacity at SEN support
  • Deliver whole school training, centralised training and drive forward LA SEND agendas through task and finish working party groups
  • Develop consultation skills to facilitate collaborative working and strengthen existing inclusive practice across Barnsley
  • Work with children, young people, parents/carers and other professionals through person centred, strength-based approaches that are outcome focused

Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified and registered with the HCPC or currently in training
  • Trainees in year 2 or 3 of the training course, newly qualified and experienced Educational Psychologists are welcome to apply
  • Ability to travel to schools and settings out in the community
  • Enhanced DBS check required
