This exciting position entails supporting children and young people in foster care to achieve their educational potential. You would be working one to one with a small number of students on a weekly basis, in one-hour sessions to improve their literacy and/or numeracy skills. Students may range from Kindergarten to HSC students. Tutors are needed for in school and after school support, with availability to work within school hours and/or after school hours.

Requirements
Degree in education and/or relevant qualifications (final year students completing a teaching degree may also be considered)
Experience working with children and/or families
High level oral and written communication skills
Current Working with Children Check
Current driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle
Ability to provide support to clients across a range of ages and learning areas including primary and high school, literacy, and numeracy
Understanding of the educational needs of children in Out of Home Care including the impact of trauma, attachment dysfunction and grief and loss
