Role overview: Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Red Balloon Educational Trust (RBET) achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity ensuring that RBET achieves its mission to provide tailored education, wellbeing and social integration to young people unable to attend mainstream school. Their principal role is to make strategic educational decisions in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity. Together with the other trustees they oversee the senior staff’s management and administration of the charity, ensuring legal, financial, educational and safeguarding compliance. The Board of Trustees has a collective responsibility, meaning that it always acts as a group and not as individuals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Make strategic educational decisions in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity
  • oversee senior staff’s management and administration of the charity
  • ensure legal, financial, educational and safeguarding compliance
  • focus on the Trust’s educational operations, championing a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • oversee and support Heads and staff in the development of Centre Development Plans
  • monitor personal and professional development of staff across the Trust
