Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Education Program Specialist to oversee the daily functions of a mentoring program for a client in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves managing program activities, coordinating weekly sessions, and fostering engagement among participants. As this is a long-term contract position, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Could turn into a permanent position with significant pay increase.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize and coordinate weekly mentoring sessions, ensuring all logistics and activities are effectively planned
  • Develop creative and impactful programs to engage participants and enhance their learning experiences
  • Track and maintain detailed records of mentees' attendance, academic performance, and individual goals
  • Schedule one-on-one meetings with mentees and their guardians to establish personalized action plans
  • Build partnerships with educational institutions, trade organizations, and businesses to support program goals
  • Lead initiatives to expand and improve program offerings, documenting progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with community groups and volunteers to provide support during mentoring sessions and events
  • Guide staff members who are new to the field, supporting their growth and development
  • Assist leadership with various tasks and projects to ensure operational success
  • Coordinate meal services and other logistical needs during weekly sessions

Requirements

  • Proven experience in program management or a similar role
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community groups and program participants
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing data to measure program success
