The Education Coordinator performs and provides coordination for department functions and processes to ensure regulatory compliance in issues of orientation, safety, staff development, and patient/family education. In coordination with the Clinical Nurse Educators, Department Managers and the Director, the Education Coordinator implements educational programs, equipment training, and clinical outcomes evaluation; creates and maintains organizational systems that support the department in those areas.
Job Responsibility:
Performs and provides coordination for department functions and processes to ensure regulatory compliance in issues of orientation, safety, staff development, and patient/family education
Implements educational programs, equipment training, and clinical outcomes evaluation
Creates and maintains organizational systems that support the department
Utilizes adult learning principles to match educational and professional needs of staff
Collaborates with Clinical Educators to provide staff development
Aligns with community education resource networks and provides support to programs for patient and family education
Complies with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and policies
Assists in risk evaluation and implements corrective plans
Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED upon hire
Bachelors Health Education or Health related field
Two (2) years recent related experience in hospital or health related field
Experience in adult education
