This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of video journalism at scale. As Editorial Director for Video & Audio, you will be the architect of the next era of our newsrooms moving us beyond video as an add-on and into a world-class, audience-first video and audio ecosystem. Your mission is to build a future where high-production YouTube formats, viral social storytelling, and premium subscriber-only content drive deep engagement, cultural relevance, and sustainable revenue.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set the vision and execute an ambitious video and audio strategy across our national and regional portfolio
  • Own social video leadership across Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram
  • Conceptualise, pilot, and scale original, high-impact video formats designed for YouTube and social platforms
  • Partner with Product and Subscription teams to develop premium video and audio propositions
  • Work closely with commercial and advertising teams to develop sellable video IP and branded content
  • Manage a multi-million-pound budget and inspire a diverse, high-performing team

Requirements:

  • Senior leadership experience at executive or senior leadership level within a major media organisation, broadcaster, or high-growth digital publisher
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling successful video formats, channels, or franchises from concept to sustained audience growth
  • Ability to turn complex audience and performance data into sharp editorial decisions and rapid content pivots
