Join our team as an eCommerce Operative and make a difference! Do you want a job where you can help others and have a positive impact on your community? Then we’ve got the perfect role for you. Our retail outlets provide much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of North Derbyshire. The hospice has 15 retail shops, a furniture warehouse, a donation centre, two clearance shops, and two coffee shops! We also have two online eBay platforms, for clothes and general goods and an online furniture store. It’s a big operation! You will play a key role within the Online Sales team, supporting the smooth and efficient running of our eCommerce operations. You will help maximise online shop income by ensuring products are accurately listed, orders are processed efficiently, and customer expectations are met. You will contribute to problem-solving and daily decision-making within the team, helping maintain a high standard of productivity and service.

Job Responsibility

  • Support Online Sales Operations–Oversee order processing, fulfilment, stock updates, and listing accuracy across all online selling platforms
  • Prepare and List Stock–Photograph, describe, clean, test, and list donated items, ensuring they meet safety, legal, and quality standards
  • Maximise Income Generation–Identify high value items, research pricing and trends, and recommend products for priority listing to optimise revenue
  • Coordinate Communication and Customer Service–Maintain professional communication with customers, shops, suppliers, and internal teams, resolving enquiries and supporting smooth operations
  • Maintain Compliance and Health and Safety–Adhere to safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety policies, ensuring the eCommerce office and storage areas are safe and well-organised

Requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • strong organisational, time-management, and workload-prioritisation skills

  • knowledge of cash-handling procedures
