Job Description

As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies. To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

Job Responsibility

  • Produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures, using ultrasound equipment, for use by physician in diagnosis of heart disease and study of heart
  • Calculate, measure, and document appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by physicians
  • Perform diagnostic carotid arterials and venous studies of upper and lower extremities and venous studies of patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease by following ICAVL guidelines
  • Explain procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient
  • Review test results with interpreting physician
  • Communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing echocardiogram
