As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a PER DIEM (0.0FTE) Echo Technologist for our Franciscan Heart and Vascular Clinic in Tacoma, WA. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our patient centered team. Flexible schedules within our outpatient ambulatory clinic setting. Work along side cardiologists, echo techs and nurse practioners to take care of all of our patients. Great opportunity to work in a brand new, fully remodeled, state-of-the-art Cardiology Clinic! Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies. To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.
Job Responsibility:
Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions
Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data
Produces two-dimensional cardiac ultrasonic recordings to evaluate anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart
Perform ultrasound procedures, stress echo's, bubble studies and contrast echo's
Prepares patients and performs ultrasound tests based on physicians' orders
Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions
Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to comfort and protect patient
Performs equipment maintenance, calibration and cleaning
Delivers patient care for all age groups
Acts as a liaison between patient and physician
Responds to emergency situations
Maintains accurate patient records
Advises nursing staff of significant change in patient's condition
Reviews and compiles clinical data
Performs incidental general office duties
Participates in ordering and inventorying of equipment and supplies
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program
Current registration by ARDMS or current certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Current healthcare provider BLS Certification
Nice to have:
One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound is preferred
