Echo Technologist

• Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions
• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data
• Produces two-dimensional cardiac ultrasonic recordings to evaluate anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart
• Perform ultrasound procedures, stress echo's, bubble studies and contrast echo's
• Prepares patients and performs ultrasound tests based on physicians' orders
• Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions
• Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to comfort and protect patient
• Performs equipment maintenance, calibration and cleaning
• Delivers patient care for all age groups
• Acts as a liaison between patient and physician
• Responds to emergency situations
• Maintains accurate patient records
• Advises nursing staff of significant change in patient's condition
• Reviews and compiles clinical data
• Performs incidental general office duties
• Participates in ordering and inventorying of equipment and supplies
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program
• Current registration by ARDMS or current certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
• Current healthcare provider BLS Certification

One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound is preferred
