The Echocardiography Laboratory Manager oversees quality and compliance standards of all echocardiography services performed within all Mount-Sinai network facilities. The Echocardiography Laboratory Manager will be in charge of the supervision of all Echo-Technologist across the network and is responsible for acquiring and interpreting m-mode, 2-D, 3-D, pulse and continuous Doppler and color Doppler echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
Job Responsibility:
Has a high degree of professional ethics and conduct
Is familiar with the technical operations of all ultrasound equipment
Oversees all related diagnostic duties and patient care functions requiring comparable skills and experiences
Performs assessments on adult and geriatric patients, taking into consideration the physiological and anatomical needs of each patient
Meets standards of care for all adult and geriatric patients
Informs patient what is to be done and explains the steps to the patient
Assists Cardiologists during procedures
Reviews/charts all exams on patient's medical record
Ensure equipment cleanliness and maintenance
Assists students and fellows with on-the-job training
May assist with evaluation of students
Mandatory continuing education to enhance growth
Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures
Assists the Lab Supervisor with the training of echo techs for Stress Echocardiograms, 3-D echo and research study protocols
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent directly related experience
7 years of sonography/echocardiography experience
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Medical Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARMDS)
Certified Radiologic Technologist from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARMDS)
