The graduate program with PVE is an exciting, fully supported, growth opportunity that includes full-time hours where you are rostered for 152 clinical hours per 4-weeks, over a 6-month period. During this time you will not only gain the skills to kickstart your career in emergency vet work, but you will also get post-nominals in ECC (FCert ECC) at the end of your internship. Included in this period, we will pay you 5 hours a week to study to further your education and growth! Our New Grad Program provides an opportunity for vets to establish a career in ECC medicine under the guidance of experienced clinicians. The objective of this program is to train individuals to be confident ECC leaders. Upon completion, you can choose to stay on as part of our team. The internship is facilitated by an experienced Emergency and Critical Care veterinarian holding or studying for their memberships in ECC. The start of the new grad program will see you engage in one-on-one mentorship; involving accompanying your mentor in consultations, assisting in diagnostic investigations, surgical procedures and observing communications with clients. Interns will then progress to taking primary case management under supervision, allowing them to develop the confidence and clinical skill needed. In this challenging field of veterinary medicine, you will receive regular and structured check-ins and feedback sessions with your mentor. After 6 months and upon graduation from the program you will join our consulting vet roster and transition to ECC Vet working part time, or full-time rostered hours.
