  • Translate operational and stakeholder needs into practical, robust and compliant architectures
  • Define system-level EC&I and control requirements through structured requirements capture
  • Prepare specifications, design schemes, engineering calculations and substantiation to support designs and safety cases
  • Produce engineering deliverables including Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, I/O schedules, Cable Schedules and Termination drawings
  • Demonstrate understanding of relevant legislation and standards, including BS 7671 Wiring/Installation Regulations and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across a range of Defence project types
  • Communicate effectively with engineering colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control Engineering, or HNC/HND with significant relevant experience
  • Membership of (or working towards membership of) a relevant professional institution such as the IET or IMC
  • Strong understanding of EC&I engineering fundamentals and control system architecture development
  • Good working knowledge of CAD tools used in EC&I design
  • Experience working within a detailed design environment
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate and high-quality engineering documentation
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines
  • Hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats
