Job Description

As an Early Years Teacher, you will be responsible for high quality teaching and learning, along with directly contributing to and maintaining the successful leadership, management and reputation of your nursery setting. Qualified to degree level with a proven track record, you will inspire, lead and motivate your team whilst drawing on your in-depth knowledge and Early Years’ experience to plan, teach and assess our Pre-School children. Key to the success of this role is balancing the needs of all stakeholders including children, their families, staff and our regulator, Ofsted. You will also be responsible for being a reliable key holder. In this role, continuous professional and personal development is an essential part to maintain up to date to relevant knowledge.

  • Ensure all SEN/ASL needs are identified early and are met
  • Ensure that ratio and internal regulations are always met
  • Ensure the Cherubs Nurseries approach and curriculum intent is properly embedded
  • Establish and maintain a purposeful learning atmosphere
  • Regularly update cohort and tracking and analyse to inform future improvements
  • Be responsible for the nursery’s planning, observations and assessments through Blossom
  • Be accountable for all key people in the nursery
  • Ensure the nursery receives excellent (outstanding) outcomes in internal audits and those of external authorities
  • Attend any meetings, training or workshops
  • Embrace and implement the Cherubs Nurseries vision, values and brand promises
  • Manage the team and organise training/meetings
  • Challenge any behaviours or practices that go against the Cherubs Nurseries vision
  • Mentor your team and always demonstrate best practice

Requirements

  • Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Qualified to degree level in Early Years or Education
  • 3 years’ experience working in an Early Years Setting or Classroom
  • 2 years’ experience of leading a room or unit within an early year’s environment (Would be advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience of Safeguarding and/or SENDCo and/or Language Lead
  • Proven track-record of teaching to a “Good” or “Outstanding” standard in Early Years
