Job Description:

As an Early Years Teacher, you will be responsible for high quality teaching and learning, along with directly contributing to and maintaining the successful leadership, management and reputation of your nursery setting. Qualified to degree level with a proven track record, you will inspire, lead and motivate your team whilst drawing on your in-depth knowledge and Early Years’ experience to plan, teach and assess our Pre-School children. Key to the success of this role is balancing the needs of all stakeholders including children, their families, staff and our regulator, Ofsted. You will also be responsible for being a reliable key holder. In this role, continuous professional and personal development is an essential part to maintain up to date to relevant knowledge.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning

  • Inspire, lead and motivate the team
  • Plan, teach and assess Pre-School children
  • Balance the needs of children, families, staff, and regulator Ofsted
  • Be a reliable key holder
  • Create a high quality, rich, stimulating and enabling environment
  • Deliver high quality interactions through planned activities
  • Implement a robust strategy to teaching early reading, using phonics
  • Lead parents evenings and meetings
  • Ensure all SEN/ASL needs are identified early and met
  • Ensure the Cherubs Nurseries approach and curriculum intent is properly embedded
  • Establish and maintain a purposeful learning atmosphere
  • Update cohort and tracking and analyse to inform future improvements
  • Be responsible for the nursery’s planning, observations and assessments through Blossom
  • Be accountable for all key people in the nursery
  • Audit children’s Blossom profiles
  • Ensure the nursery receives excellent outcomes in internal and external audits
  • Embrace and implement the Cherubs Nurseries vision, values and brand promises
  • Manage the team and organise training/meetings
  • Challenge any behaviours or practices that go against policies
  • Assist in the appointment of the Designated People within the nursery

Requirements:

  • Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Qualified to degree level in Early Years or Education
  • 3 years’ experience working in an Early Years Setting or Classroom
  • Proven track-record of teaching to a “Good” or “Outstanding” standard in Early Years

Nice to have:

  • 2 years’ experience of leading a room or unit within an early year’s environment
  • Experience of Safeguarding and/or SENDCo and/or Language Lead
