At Airbus UpNext, we fly future technologies at speeds well beyond what seems feasible today. We're looking for passionate individuals to join a new demonstrator project that is shaping the future of sustainable aviation by advancing the aircraft electrification roadmap. This project will focus on the challenges and opportunities of High Voltage Electrical Systems, which are essential for next-generation, low-emission aircraft part of Airbus ambition to electrify the skies. As part of a fast-paced, agile team, you will help create a unique, state-of-the-art test facility from the ground up. Your mission will be to explore novel HV technologies at their limits and beyond, generating invaluable data and learnings needed to build the robust and reliable aircraft of tomorrow by safely testing the unsafe.

Job Responsibility:

  • Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing team of 2-3 UpNext Test Means Engineers
  • Define the Test Bench Needs: specify needed test bench requirements
  • Test Means Development: Detailing the electrical and mechanical architecture and design of the bench
  • Electrical Safety & Operations: Perform risk analysis and establish all required documentation for human safety
  • Supplier Identification & Steering: Study the market selecting potential subcontractors
  • In-Service Continuous Operability: Ensure by continuous improvements a high test means operational reliability
  • Risks & Opportunities: Identify and analyze risks & opportunities affecting E2E bench performance and/or capacity

Requirements:

  • Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the design, development integration and operation of complex Electrical Test Means or other relevant positions
  • Valid electrical safety habilitations or eligibility to obtain them under Spanish regulations
  • Expertise in Test Means architectures, Power Electronics and Electrical Distribution
  • Knowledge in thermal management systems
  • Proven experience leading small technical teams or functional groups
  • Knowledge of R&T Electrical systems would be a very valuable asset
  • Professional network including industrial players, research institutions and consultants
  • Language: English at negotiation level. Spanish would be an advantage
  • Eagerness to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working
  • Ability to cope with short deadlines
  • Values of transparency, humility & empathy
  • Autonomy, adaptability, availability & accountability
  • Readiness to step out of your comfort zone
