Lead the Electric Drivetrain Systems team for a leading international automotive brand investing in electrification, acting as the bridge between the Japanese market and Global Headquarters.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the Electric Drivetrain Systems team, managing permanent employees and overseeing pre-development, benchmarking, and series development for the Japanese market
Act as the bridge between the local market and Global Headquarters
Management of team strategy, budget planning, and resource allocation
Regular reporting of technical developments to Global R&D Headquarters
Supplier screening and network building for electric powertrain components
Defining and managing benchmarking activities for electric vehicles
Overseeing local charging infrastructure compatibility and battery testing
Leading quality assurance and project monitoring for EV development projects
Requirements:
Academic degree in Electrical, Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education
Negotiation-level English (TOEIC 850+) is required
German (C1 level) is highly desired
Must hold a valid Japanese driver’s license and certification in High-Voltage handling
Deep technical knowledge of Automotive Engineering and Electric Powertrain technologies
Expertise in High-Voltage systems, architecture, components, and safety risks
Strong understanding of R&D processes and development standards
Proven experience in team management, resource handling, and coaching staff
Over 2 years of Project Management experience with strong negotiation and strategic skills
At least 2 years of experience in the automotive industry
Excellent intercultural communication skills for reporting to management and working in diverse teams
