Job Description:

The Duty Technician performs general maintenance and repair operations at The Westin Manila hotel. Responsibilities include addressing guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, inspecting and troubleshooting tools and equipment, and maintaining inventory. The role requires technical skills in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building management. You will also ensure compliance with safety regulations, communicate effectively with team members and guests, and contribute to fostering a positive work environment.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio)
identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
communicate day-to-day activities and problems to other shifts
display proficiency in select technical areas
troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing, electrical items, and more
assist with preparation, painting, and clean-up
adhere to safety regulations and policies
provide training and mentoring to other engineers
enter and locate work-related information using computers
perform other reasonable job duties as requested

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background
at least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
valid Driver’s License
must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements

Nice to have:

experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
