Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking experienced Duty & Assessment Social Workers to join our South Locality teams. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service that is committed to putting the child at the centre of every decision and driving meaningful, lasting change for families. We are looking for committed, dynamic practitioners who can work at pace, think critically, and understand that permanence for children begins at the point of referral. About the RoleOur Duty & Assessment teams are the first point of contact for children and families requiring statutory intervention. You will play a vital role in ensuring timely, robust, and child-focused assessments that lead to the right support at the right time. Working within a restorative and relationship-based practice model, you will manage complex and varied cases, ensuring that children are safeguarded and that their voices are heard in every decision made. You will be part of a busy but supportive locality team where collaboration, reflection, and professional curiosity are key to achieving positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities Undertaking timely and high-quality assessments of children and families. Managing a complex caseload including Child in Need, Child Protection, Pre-Proceedings, and Public Law work. Making informed, evidence-based decisions in line with statutory guidance. Working closely with families, partner agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams. Identifying risk and ensuring appropriate safeguarding interventions are in place. Contributing to care planning with a focus on achieving permanence at the earliest opportunity. Maintaining accurate, timely, and reflective case recordings.
