Oldham is looking for a passionate Duty & Advice Social Worker to join our multi-agency safeguarding team (MASH) and play a crucial role at the front door of Children’s Services. Why Oldham? Based in our modern hub at Spindles in the heart of Oldham, you’ll work side-by-side with partners from Police, Health, Community Safety, Adult Social Care, IDVA and the Prevention Hub to ensure children and families get the right support at the right time.

Job Responsibility:

  • Respond to contacts and safeguarding concerns quickly and effectively
  • Gather information from families, professionals and the public
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to build a full picture of risk
  • Make confident, evidence-based threshold decisions
  • Ensure children and families are directed to the most appropriate support or protection

Requirements:

  • Must be registered with Social Work England
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Solid understanding of statutory social work duties
  • Confidence to make informed safeguarding decisions in a fast-paced environment
