Job Description:

The Back Server is responsible for delivering a high level of service to guest congruent with The Ocean Club Standards, processes guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared properly and received on a timely basis. Maintains strict discipline and reports all infractions to the Restaurant Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assists other colleagues as needed in order to provide the most efficient service
  • Inspects the restaurant and takes appropriate action on all matters in order to ensure that all is up to brand standards
  • Checks tables, side stands, equipment and supplies to ensure everything is in order
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of all food and beverage menus
  • Monitors and ensures the timelines of service in keeping with the established standards
  • Ascertains that guests are provided with prompt and courteous service at all times
  • Greets and welcomes guests with a genuine smile
  • Uses guest’s name in every interaction during service
  • Informs guests of menu specials and menu changes, makes suggestions and answers questions pertaining to food and beverage service
  • Takes beverage, food and wine orders promptly, accurately and courteously
  • Sets up all tables as required by restaurant standards prior to and during service
  • Ensures that all service utensils, silverware and dishware are clean and free of cracks, chips, fingerprints and food remnants
  • Completes all pre-shifts and ongoing side work, ensuring that side stands are fully stocked, organized and clean
  • Monitors assigned station throughout service, observing and following up to guest’s needs
  • Assists colleagues throughout the shift as needed
