Job Description

Reporting to the Mining Production Supervisor - Haulage, the Dump Truck Operator the position of Dump Truck Operator is responsible for operating Dump Trucks in a hard rock production mining environment, working collaboratively towards delivering targeted production outcomes in a safe and efficient manner. As a valued member of PLS and our Mining Production team, you’ll work safely and collaboratively towards delivering targeted production outcomes and offer guidance and direction to your fellow operators. This is a permanent full-time role based at our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region, which operates on an 8:6, 7:7 (days / nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Job Responsibility

  • Operating Dump Trucks in a hard rock open pit mining environment
  • Conducting pre-start safety checks on mobile mining equipment
  • Reporting any hazards and contribute to a safe working environment
  • Working collaboratively with a can-do attitude, following industry best practices
  • Actively contributing to a safe work environment for yourself and team members
  • Assisting with other tasks and operating other machinery as required

Requirements

  • Experience operating Heavy Surface Mining equipment, ideally CAT 785 or larger mechanical-drive Dump Trucks in a hard rock production mining environment
  • preferably 2 years+
  • Experience operating under Priority Rules
  • Experience operating using a Fleet Management System
  • Operating exposure on Ancillary Mobile Mining equipment highly regarded
  • A flexible approach to work and helping others, including regular hot seating activities
  • A strong focus on safety and best practices within the mining industry
  • The ability to work 12.5-hour shifts, including nights
  • A current WA C-class manual driver’s licence: HR preferred
  • You enjoy being part of a collaborative team and you’re passionate about achieving goals together

  • Operating exposure on Ancillary Mobile Mining equipment highly regarded
