Job Description

Zeta Diagnostics is building a first-in-class medical device for long-term monitoring of middle ear pressure regulation. Our mission is to help ENT specialists diagnose Eustachian Tube Dysfunction earlier and objectively through real-world data collected over time. We are developing a wearable diagnostic platform that combines acoustics, electronics, signal processing, and software. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to work across acoustics, DSP, electronics, prototyping, and product development in a medtech startup. You will help define the technical direction, make key architecture decisions, work closely with external development partners and experts, and play a central role in turning prototypes into a clinically valuable product.

Job Responsibility

  • Hands-on leadership and technical development of the device (algorithm + physical device)
  • Own key decisions across acoustics, electronics, DSP / ML, and system design
  • Work closely with the founder and external partners
  • Drive prototyping, testing, iteration, and technical problem-solving
  • Help shape the technical strategy and future engineering team

Requirements

  • Background in DSP, acoustics, electronics, audio engineering, hearing aids, tympanometry, embedded electronics or a related field
  • Strong experience in some of: Machine learning
  • Audio electronics
  • Acoustics
  • Digital Signal processing
  • Embedded development
  • Experience with regulated development, including ISO 13485 and/or IEC 62304 is a strong plus
  • Fast-moving, hands-on, pragmatic, technically strong
  • Excited by the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage startup
  • Likes building, testing, and solving hard problems
  • Can go deep technically while keeping the bigger picture in mind
  • May already be in a senior technical or leadership role, or ready to step into one
  • Understanding of managing uncertainty is a plus
  • Role requires some travel as well as presentation of the company to stakeholders
