Job Description:

Due to growth we are looking for 4 x drivers to join our Operations team. This is an opportunity to join a company dedicated to unlocking the potential of waste and leaving a better planet for future generations. You will play a vital role by developing skills to drive and operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, delivering dependable waste collection and disposal service across multiple locations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, complete defect/damage reports, and follow escalation process
  • Comply with tachograph legislation, Working Time Directive, and all company SOPs, risk assessments, and H&S requirements
  • Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins, and non-conforming waste promptly
  • Maintain vehicles to a high standard including cleanliness and weekly wheel nut torque checks
  • Provide excellent service to colleagues and customers
  • Be flexible towards working hours and available for occasional overtime
  • Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as requested by Manager/Supervisor or Board of Directors

Requirements:

  • Valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
  • Digital tachograph driver card
  • Practical skills including map reading and following directions
  • Proactive, 'can-do' attitude with flexibility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team while using own initiative
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements

Nice to have:

  • Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Experience driving roll on roll offs, skips, front end loaders and waste wheelers
