Job Description:

As a Driver Supervisor, this individual, is responsible for driver assignments, scheduling, and coordinating product movements to customers, vendors, and distribution centers through the efficient use and management of company equipment, fleet, and drivers, in addition to various duties as determined by the Transportation Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Adhere to all guaranteed inbound product movements, such as inbound vendor purchase orders for both Dot Foods and internal company transfers
  • Manage driver assignment for all loads, inbound and outbound
  • Assist in the coordination of product transfer to other distribution centers
  • Perform specific duties in measuring and reporting driver payroll, service levels, fleet performance, etc.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Dot experience
  • Knowledge of D.O.T., Federal and State regulations for drivers and equipment
  • Working knowledge of federal Hours Of Service regulations
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment

Nice to have:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective planning, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ensure correct materials ordering procedures are adhered to by checking received materials against packing list and notifying project management team if there are any discrepancies
  • Strict compliance with all policies and procedures such as engineering method statements or company OH&S requirements
  • Ensure all plant and equipment onsite is maintained in a serviceable condition and reports any damage to equipment immediately to the Equipment and Stores Manager
